JULY JEN: EPK

INDEPENDENT ARTIST│ SINGER │ SONGWRITER

Stockholm, Sweden

July Jen, actually named Jennie Johansson, is a Swedish singer-songwriter based in Stockholm, creating pop with funk and electro influences: a mix of intimacy and pulse with "crying disco" vibes.

Born and raised in the country of pop, Jennies interest in music started early with lip-sync living room concerts for the family, and participation in the school choirs. She has since 2012 lived in 5 countries on 3 continents, and although music has been with her as long as she can remember, she waited to share her own until the time felt right.

Jennie started performing on and off campus back in university, after having joined the music club. A decade later, she started her own wedding singer business in 2021 and joined the band Rigodón as lead singer 2023. She finally stepped into launching her solo career performing her own songs under the artist name July Jen. The debut single Commitments was released in 2024 and she is right now working on her debut EP named Unknown Territory.

Drawing inspiration from artists like Dua Lipa and her favorite band the Red Hot Chili Peppers, July Jen's sound merges melodic toplines with funk, grooves and a hint of retro. Beyond the production, it's her lyrics that cut through - rooted in real-life experiences, growing pains, and quiet resilience.
